The Conversation Survey Builder

The Conversation Survey Builder is the interface you see when you create and edit conversational surveys.

Note: You must be an Admin, Power User or Author to create and build conversational surveys. Analysts see a read-only version of this page.

Message Order area

On the left side of the page, the Message Order area lists the conversational survey's messages in sequence.

  • Click the arrow in the top right corner of the Message Order area to collapse and expand it.
  • Click one of the messages to edit it.
  • To rearrange the message order, hover over a message listing until your cursor becomes a crosshair, and drag the screen up or down. Alternately, hover over a message listing and use the up and down arrows on the left.
  • Click the pencil icon in a message listing to rename the message.
  • Click the options menu to the right of a message listing to delete, duplicate, or rename it.

Build toolbar

  • Toggle between the survey's Build, Distribute, and Report pages.
  • Edit the survey's internal name.
  • View the survey's status (Draft or Distributed).
  • Click Settings to view and edit system and automated response settings for the survey.
  • Click Preview to open a survey preview in a new browser tab.
  • Click Save to save your survey-building progress.

Preview area

The preview area shows you an approximation of what your messages will look like on a participant's mobile device. As you build your survey, you can use this area to edit the content of your messages.

Editors

On the right side of the page, various editors allow you to set the properties and behaviors of your messages. You can configure the respondent's journey through the survey by setting the logic flow from one message to the next. For intro messages, choose whether you want the respondent to explicitly opt in to the survey before proceeding.
